This 10-pc. nesting doll is handmade by a Russian artisan in the traditional style of Semenov village. A bright bouquet of flowers usually decorates these stacking dolls. The early matryoshka of Semenov were more in the spirit of old Russian painting traditions, where the lines were more graphic on all of the nesting dolls. The largest babushka doll ( a.k.a babooshka ) has 9 smaller dolls inside. Carefully open each one of them in the middle to reveal the entire family of Russian matryoshka.
